Ohiwa-ohope

A new addition to the workshop itineraries, Ohiwa and Ohope are two truly inspiring locations with expansive, remote beaches, rocky headlands, and wild seas separated by the stunning natural Ohiwa Harbour.

The harbour is one of New Zealand's most unspoiled and the area has long been special to many people for many reasons. It is home to a multitude of marsh and shore birds, shellfish and fish species.

The workshop also includes a trip up the Waioeka Valley to the spectacular Motu Falls exploring the remains of the settlers expansion into this steep and very rugged terrain.  There are native forests, streams mountains, abandoned bridges and railways and historic villages in this remote part of New Zealand.

Finally we also have the option of including a trip to Wingspan a couple of hours away on the shores of Lake Rotorua to view and photograph the native New Zealand falcon and their other residents.

Many thanks to Linda Fox for the wonderful bird images she took on a workshop in 2022.

There maybe some trail walking required to access the forest locations
