Hi there, I am a professional photographer living in the Coromandel Peninsula, one of New Zealand’s most beautiful locations. It is a long peninsula of extinct volcanoes that boasts stunning coastlines, deserted beaches, rare birds and lush green native forest. We live locally which means we are flexible to the conditions and can keep costs down.

Workshops are aimed at all ages and all levels of experience from beginner to expert.  Whether you want to become more proficient at using your camera and equipment or are already experienced and simply want to be guided to a series of handpicked locations, the choice is yours.

Groups are kept small to allow each student to focus on their own specific areas of interest.   We travel in a modern 4 wheel drive vehicle as comfort and safety are paramount.

We cover a range of range of techniques on our courses including long exposure, low-light, astral and lunar photography, wildlife and nature and panoramas. You will work on post processing the images using a simple workflow to get print ready images.

I am proud to be a partner of NiSi NZ, one of the worlds leading photographic filter suppliers. This means you get to try some of the latest equipment before you buy and get access to special deals and offers only available to selected partners.

The ability to manage contrast and exposure and to alter shutter speeds through the use of filters to create motion effects are invaluable to the creative land and sea photographer. Photoshop is an amazingly powerful tool but it is always better to create images in camera using natural light effects

My own kit includes neutral density (ND), graduated and polarising filters. I can show you how and when to use these to get the best out of your photography. I also have spare full frame Canon cameras for you to try.

We have spare equipment for you to use including cameras (both full frame and cropped sensor), lenses, flashes, filters, tripods and more. My clients use all types of cameras including Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Sony, Panasonic and many others. If you don’t have an SLR with interchangeable lenses don’t worry as I have many clients using ‘bridge’ cameras with a single lens.

It was a wonderful day out … my much maligned camera (only by me) is now my friend and I have every confidence we will go on to enjoy a life-long and incredibly fulfilling and happy relationship!
